I hear you. I think reading does help fill the well. But again, sometimes it's good to slow down and savor each moment, and when the well fills, write again.

You know, now that you mention it, I think maybe that's why I get such a burst of inspiration in the spring - with the weather change and all the growth and sunshine, I tend to spend a lot more time just being present and looking around. That can be a lot harder for me in the summer.

I remember one of my writing instructors telling us that "reading like a writer counts as writing," and it really impressed me. I believed them, and I respect you to know when you need the field to lie fallow! Thank you for your courageous transparency, which normalizes what should just be normal to begin with, but which the culture has has burdened with shame and aspersion. <3

There are so many things that I now understand are related to my writing and creativity that I hadn't realized before. Being here among such wonderful and open writers has shifted my perspective in the most helpful ways.

This feeling seems to be going around. Lots of my podcasts and blogs/vlogs I follow took time off or are changing format or have been talking about losing that spark of inspiration lately. Seems to be cyclical. I love that you know it will come back so you don't need to worry. It's a wonderful calming feeling to have seen enough seasons to know they'll return.

It really feels so different. I'm still not able to relax into it quite as much as I'd like, but I'm not fighting it as much or feeling as worried about it as I used to.
