I was really moved by how you said you felt it best to put a book down. I've read some triggering stuff before and just tried to skip it as best I could in order to finish. It didn't feel great, but I also really needed to know the ending.

I'm just glad to know that I'm not alone in wanting to put a book down and that is ok. It feels validating. Thanks you.

I'm so glad that felt helpful for you! It's taken me a while to feel okay about not finishing every book I start. But there are many reasons for not wanting to finish a book, and they're all valid, and I'm getting more comfortable with admitting that certain books just aren't for me.

You're such an avid reader! It's great to hear how the reading queue has been helping you choose your next reads and something I should try. Thanks for sharing.

I too love that you are modeling setting healthy limits by putting down something that's leading to invasive thoughts. Good for you (and thank you). I really enjoyed hearing about this experiment you've been conducting...it sounds like a pretty effective, not to mention joy-supporting, hack! Good food for thought for me.

Thank you, friend! I know it won't be for everyone, but seeing things like this from other people often gives me insight into what I need or want for myself (or, at least, what definitely isn't for me) so I like sharing in case it's helpful.

I'm not keeping a queue, but I'm almost halfway to my goal for the year so I'm excited about that. I've been very all over the place, but I'm embracing it. I started the mysterious Benedict society which has been really fun. Then I got distracted and started the burning witch 3 (I had forgotten about it.) I'm current on my book club reads which has never happened before. I finished "life in five senses" recently and I really enjoyed it, but it made me homesick so I'll be planning a trip home soon. 😆 I've read a few off your list on the past so I'll need to pick your brain about them.

I've never heard of the Mysterious Benedict Society but now I'm very intrigued! It looks right up my alley. I didn't realize Delemhach had so many books! I have The House Witch on my queue for next year but there are so many that look great! I'd love for you to share your book club reads with me! I keep forgetting you're in more than just the one we did together. Also, please pick away! I love talking about books.
